Proposal to fix spamming (was Re: [oc] NEED NOTES)

Repeating a suggestion made in the early days of this list:

1) Require all mail come from list members

2) Allow requirement '1)' to be overridden by including
the string '[oc]' in the subject.

Additionally:

3) If mail comes from a non-registered user, without '[oc]'
in the subject, autoreply with a message along the lines.
"Your mail has been rejected. Please refer to the opencores
      FAQ for reasons why."
The FAQ will contain an question/answer explaing the system
and the need to either register, or include '[oc]' in the subject.

Advantages of this system:
- It allows users to post from any mail address (useful if at
  a temporary address).
- It allows all replies through to the list, irrespective of where
thay are posted from (as they contain '[oc]' in the subject).
- The autoreply guards against valid messages being dropped, but
it is very unlikely a Spammer will read the FAQ for reasons why their
mail failed. (plus I'll put the answer right under the one about
Spamming not being allowed on the list).

What do people think of this proposal?

Best wishes
John
