Note 1) I did not ask this question. Please try to be careful when you use the
reply feature your email program. The question that I did ask was: is there

one working on this core and would they like some help.
Note 2) The formerly non-802.3 frame format, is usually referred to as DIX. The
DIX format is now part of the 802.3 specification. This is about time since
about
the only people that use it are Apple. In any case, a more accurate means of
referring to this is 802.3 type field or length field formats.
The MAC would not use the length/type field so it doesn't make any difference.
The MAC gets it's information about the length of the frame from the physical
layer or from the host DMA mechanisms.
