RE: [oc] FREE VHDL simulator

Title: RE: [oc] FREE VHDL simulator

Command LINE:- Not for long.

I'm working with Haneef D. Mohammed [ He wrote the tool. ] to get a TCL TK-GUI working with it.

The GUI is 80% complete. Haneef will release it soon.

At the moment it's not got a wave window support (must use text wave format).
GUI wave window will be quite some time away, but the tool is very useable at the moment.
Better than using a command line.

As I wrote the initial version, there will be no problems releasing it.

Although Haneef wants to release it properly (i.e. with no known bugs) , so watch this space.

At the moment the GUI is only on the PC. As it's TCL, that may change soon.

There are some issues with it, i.e. only IEEE vhdl 93 up compliant. Not full support for BLOCKs.
Read the "what's supported" file.

Generally as quick as ModelSim PE, but doesn't cost lots of money.

I have personally been using it for about 4 months and ran as much through it as possible,  All my previous ASICs simulate fine.
