[oc] Comments

Greetings, all.

I've been lurking on the list for a few weeks now and would just like
to toss in a couple of (nontechnical) comments regarding the list.
I'm speaking as a designer who both looks forward to the availability
of opensource cores and hopes to make future contributions (though I'm
rather new to VHDL and FPGA design).

1. Now that the list is seeing an increased volume of traffic, there
MUST be a digest option. I have to deal with hundreds of pieces of
mail per day in the normal course of business, and can no longer
   tolerate the increased discrete-message load.

2. With respect to the recent logo artwork being circulated: Around
here (and we run a large production network), it's considered bad
manners to mail attachments of any sort, including gifs/jpgs. It
presumes that the recipient wants large encoded binaries in his/her
mail, and that the recipient is using a mailer configured to decode
and view same. The admins around here use text-only shell mailers
and reject attachments. If someone wants to show a picture around,
it's regarded as polite to post it on a web server so the viewer
   can look at his/her leisure.

I hope to hear from the list owner re: digests; otherwise I'm outa
here thanks to too much mail in the inbox, in which case I'll catch
up with y'all later. In the meantime, keep up the good work.
