I am trying to install muLinux on a thinkpad 360CS
I have read throuhgh all the mailing list archives pertaining to this and
they dont solve my problems.
The first method I attempted (I want to clone to the HD in the end) was
writing the bootdisks with my windows XP pc and loading them into the
laptop. I would get the boot prompt and then as it would boot, if I
remember correctly, I would get a boot failed a little ways into loading
root.gz could this becuase I could not find where to put floppy=thinkpad
from the windows installer?
The laptop is running debian and the second attempt at installing, I copied
the files and followed the directions to doing an install from linux. This
went well and I opted to make the boot disk with all 3 (because again I
didnt know where to put floppy=thinkpad, in debian I added it to LILO after
install but I cant do this now)
when restarting with the bood disk in place, it loads all the way to the
point wher eit says:
VFS: Insert root floppy and press ENTER
I leave the same disk in and hit enter and get:
VFS: Cannot open root device o2:3c
Kernal panicL VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 02:3c
is this because floppy=thinkpad is not properly added and it cannot unmount
and remount the disk?
in the end I want mulinux to be running from the hard-drive and no more
debian, I would like X with most of the addons on the site, if anyone could
help me acomplish any part of this, I would be grateful
thank you,
Otto Hansen
