Yes. I have three machines running Redhat 7.1, and have them tied
together with some old 10Base-T ethercards. One serves as a gateway
to the internet, and a general "server" to the others. I loaded the
VNC add-on on the 486 and used svncviewer to connect to a vncserver on
that computer. It works like a charm.
I do have a question about telnet: If I telnet from muLinux to one of
my other machines, I get some garbage like the warning says. Then I
set the TERM var to 'linux' and export it. However, if I try to do
anything--e.g., run vim or less--my keys don't work. For example, 'j'
to scroll down, just prints a 'j'. And the cursor keys recall my
shell history. I also tried setting TERM=vt100, but that didn't help.
