Then either you aren't using mulinux, or your installation has got badly
messed up. In the latter case, you should probably reinstall it.

It will depend on your kernel. Maybe there are some old kernels that
don't support
pseudo terminals. I don't know, but perhaps the reason you haven't got
them is that
your system can't support them.
