This is only for reference.
The script do that:
# mount the disk on /mnt
# cat /tmp/lilo.conf | lilo -C - -r /mnt
It use the "-r" feature in lilo, i.e. /mnt is taken as root for the
command.
Check if the kernel is in the right place.
