PostScript. Based on abc2ps version 1.2.5, it was developped mainly to print
barock organ scores which have independant voices played on one or many
keyboards and a pedal-board. abcm2ps introduces many extensions to the ABC
language that make it suitable for classical music.

=Pkg: jucetice-jost 0.3.3 8.1 i586
=Sum: A host for native VST plugins on linux
+Des:
Jost is a audio host application for plugins that can be used as plugin
itself, or be compiled as a cross bridge between multiple audio plugin
technologies. Jost is the first open source native vst host application
for linux.

Jost will mainly host a chain of VST/LADSPA/DSSI plugins per instance, and you
can control the internal signal flow by virtual patch cables for audio and MIDI.
Externally, it publishes jack and alsa_seq ports in order to be connected to
your main stream flow.

Jost is currently under heavy development, but nevertheless has some very good
features that make it a first class host (well, judge by yourself!).

Written in C++ using the JUCE framework (www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/juce).

This tool is not made to be good or to be bad, to like or not to like...
it was just made to be what it means to be!

Feedback-y Thing - Basically a delay set to work with very short delay times,

=Pkg: lutetab 4.3.57 2.1 i586
=Sum: A typesetter for lute tablature
+Des:
Tab is a program to typset lute tablature, for renaissance and baroque
lutes and theorboes, in French and Italian notation. It works like TeX
in that a plain text file (that bears little resemblance to the desired
output) is created and processed into a device independent printer
format file. The standard output format is PostScript, which laserwriter
printers print.

With the dvi option this file can be previewed with a dvi previewer
and formatted for your printer with a dvi to printer filter, which is
not included in this package.

This program is not particularly beginner-friendly, but is quite fast
once you have gotten used to it.

=Sum: Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch
+Des:
This is a program for stretching the audio. It is suitable only for extreme
sound stretching of the audio (like 50x) and for applying special effects by
"spectral smoothing" the sounds. It can transform any sound/music to a texture.
The program is Open-Source and it's released under the version 2 of the General
Public License. You can download the source code for Linux or the Windows
binaries.

Please note that this is suitable only for extreme time stretching (e.g. if
have a melody of 3 minutes and you want to listen it in 3 hours). If you want
"less extreme" time stretching, you can use a program which contains the
SoundTouch library.

=Pkg: simplesysexxer 0.0.1 1.1 i586
=Sum: A MIDI SysEx Transfer Tool.
+Des:
Simple Sysexxer is a small tool that lets you exchange sysex data with your
MIDI devices. The most important idea is to make backups of the memory of
your devices. If you have spent nights over nights to get this killer sound
out of your synth it will be lost as soon as its battery gets low.

Furthermore it is common to share synth sounds and MIDI device settigns over
the internet. You can use Simple Sysexxer to send sysex files found on the
internet to your device. Please note: If the sounds are in MIDI or LIB
format, Simple Sysexxer cannot handle them. Ask the author to provide his
files in sysex format. If you got sysex in MIDI format, try using a
sequencer like Rosegarden or MusE to send it to your device.

All this is not only valid for synthesizers but for guitar amp emulators,
effects processors, MIDI controllers like faderboxes and footpedals as well.

Simple Sysexxer is ALSA only, there's no OSS support.

variables, and helps for tune navigation/modification.

- a Tk graphical interface which permits creation or modification of
tunes, using the previous extension.

+Des:
Ardour is a multichannel hard disk recorder (HDR) and digital audio
workstation (DAW). It is capable of simultaneous recording 24 or more
channels of 32 bit audio at 48kHz. Ardour is intended to function as a
"professional" HDR system, replacing dedicated hardware solutions such
as the Mackie HDR, the Tascam 2424 and more traditional tape systems
like the Alesis ADAT series. It is also intended to provide the same
or better functionality as software systems such as ProTools,
Samplitude, Logic Audio, Nuendo and Cubase VST (we acknowledge these
and all other names as trademarks of their respective owners). It
supports MIDI Machine Control, and so can be controlled from any MMC
controller, such as the Mackie Digital 8 Bus mixer and many other
modern digital mixers.

The Audio Stream I/O API addresses the areas of efficient audio processing,
high data throughput, synchronization, low latency and extensibility on the
audio hardware side. The interface is not bound to any fixed number of input
and output channels (of course this numbers is limited by the processing power
and data throughput of the computer system itself). It puts no limitation on
the sample rate (32 kHz to 96 kHz or higher), sample format (16, 24, 32 bit or
32/64 bit floating point formats). It takes advantage of today's computer
architectures for high data throughput (PCI, FireWire). It supports
sophisticated hardware solutions for additional audio processing but it remains
simple in comparison to other approaches.

=Pkg: lives 0.9.8.6 5.1 src
=Sum: A Free, Open Source video editor *and* a VJ tool.
+Des:
LiVES mixes realtime video performance and non-linear editing in one application.

It will let you start editing and making video right away, without having to
worry about formats, frame sizes, or framerates. It is a very flexible tool
which can be used by both VJ's and video editors - mix and switch clips from
the keyboard, trim and edit your clips, and bring them together using the
multitrack timeline. You can even record your performance in real time, and
then edit it further or render it straight away as a new clip!

For the more technically minded, the application can be controlled remotely or
scripted for use as a video server. And it supports all of the latest free
standards.

LiVES is good enough to be used as a VJ tool for professional performances,
and as a video editor is capable of creating dazzling clips in a wide variety
of formats.

##----------------------------------------
=Pkg: vstsdk 2.3 2.1 nosrc
=Sum: VST Audio Plug-Ins SDK
+Des:
What is a VST Plug-In?

In the widest possible sense a VST Plug-In is an audio process. A VST Plug-In
is not an application. It needs a host application that handles the audio
streams and makes use of the process the VST Plug-In supplies.

Generally speaking, it can take a stream of audio data, apply a process to the
audio and send the result back the host application. A VST Plug-In performs its
process normally using the processor of the computer, it does not necessarily
need dedicated digital signal processors. The audio stream is broken down into
a series of blocks. The host supplies the blocks in sequence. The host and its
current environment control the block-size. The VST Plug-In maintains all
parameters statuses that refer to the running process: The host does not
maintain any information about what the Plug-In did with the last block of data
it processed.

From the host application's point of view, a VST Plug-In is a black box with an
arbitrary number of inputs, outputs (MIDI or Audio), and associated parameters.
The Host needs no knowledge of the Plug-In process to be able to use it.

The Plug-In process can use whatever parameters it wishes, internally to the
process, but it can choose to allow the changes to user parameters to be
automated by the host, if the host application wishes to do so.
