mpd - Remote server for playing music and accessing playlists
Music Player Daemon (MPD) is a server that allows
remote access for playing music (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, and Flac) and
managing playlists. The design focus is on integrating a computer into
a stereo system that provides control for music playback over a local
network. Currently, it includes a Web interface (phpMp), a GTK
frontend (gtk2mp), a command line tool (mpc), and a dock
app(WMmp). Its goals are ease of installation and use, minimal
resource requirements, and stability and flexibility.
