The program is driven by a command line interface, and displays an ASCII rendition of a board on text-only terminals, but also allows the user to play games and manipulate positions with a GTK+ board window where available. It is extensible on platforms that support Guile. The program currently plays at the level of an advanced to open flight tournament player (depending what parameters are used, it rates between the high 1800s and low 2000s on FIBS, the First Internet Backgammon Server).
