Just a program I whipped up on a Sparcstation at work, for spotting core files that appear while running a background process that you're not really paying much attention to (and hence only find the core file hours later...) Just do a make install to make and install it... You need xview for this ! syntax is spotcore & (ie. it's kind useful to run it in the background...) if you don't give it any files, it defaults to ./core (ie. core in whatever directory it was executed from) This works with SunOS 4.1.2 and Linux 0.99p2 (they're all I've got to test them on so far...) You can modify, copy and distribute this as long as you i) keep it *FREE* ii) don't claim it all as your own idea... iii) etc. (as per the GNU Licence, really :) And don't blame me for anything this program may or may not do to your system - after all, YOU chose to use (or abuse) it ! Happy core spotting ! Feel free to send me feedback ! Let me know what it does and doesn't run on !
