(NASDAQ: LEAF) announced the availability of Cyberleaf 1.0, a new software package that dramatically streamlines the process of publishing information on the Internet's World Wide Web. Cyberleaf is push-button technology that automatically transforms documents created with popular word processing applications into Internet-ready webs of information, without requiring users to learn tedious HTML code. Cyberleaf goes beyond document conversion by also providing a complete Web production environment, including functionality for hyperlinking between and among various file types and for managing and updating multiple webs. Since its announcement in November 1994, Cyberleaf has received widespread acclaim. Now released and shipping, Cyberleaf is poised for rapid adoption by organizations and individuals who want to publish information on the World Wide Web quickly and easily. Ed Koepfler, Interleaf's President and CEO, said "The World Wide Web is emerging as a vast and important medium for global communication and with Cyberleaf, Interleaf is positioned to quickly establish the leadership role in the Internet publishing arena." Cyberleaf is priced at $795 U.S. and is now available for Digital Equipment, Hewlett-Packard, IBM and Sun UNIX workstations. A Windows version is under development and will be available later this year. Cyberleaf's key features include: *Push-button graphical user interface. A workflow-oriented interface, ideal for any skill level, guides users through the web construction process and requires no knowledge of HTML. *Multiple format conversion. Cyberleaf converts Microsoft Word RTF, WordPerfect, Interleaf, FrameMaker and ASCII formats. *Simultaneous text and graphics conversion to HTML and GIF. Text and graphics contained in documents are converted to HTML and GIF in one easy step. *Thumbnail graphics. To save valuable time when downloading images within files, any graphic may be transformed into a thumbnail, a postage stamp-sized version of the original graphic. End users simply click on the thumbnail to download the full-size graphic. *Table conversion. Tables may be output in a variety of formats, including PostScript, as a GIF inline image, or as experimental HTML 3 table markup. *Easy-to-use hyperlinking. Hyperlinks contained in the original documents are preserved and converted directly to HTML. In addition, users can insert hyperlinks within and between documents, as well as link to any external file type. *Style matching. During the conversion process, Cyberleaf analyzes the styles contained in the original documents and automatically matches those styles to equivalent HTML styles. *Home page templates. Cyberleaf includes professionally-designed home page templates which can be customized for various applications. *Document outlines. To facilitate browsing, long documents may be outlined based on selected style names. The outline resembles a table of contents with hyperlinks automatically generated for corresponding sections of each outline element. *Web document management. Multiple webs can be created, managed and maintained simultaneously. Webs can be updated incrementally when individual documents change or new ones are added, with no need to rebuild webs from scratch each time. *Multiple browser support. Cyberleaf has been tested with many popular browsers including NCSA Mosaic, Netscape, Spyglass, Spry, Cello, Lynx, Chimera and Arena. *Cyberleaf will be sold through Interleaf's direct sales organization and through OEM and channel partners.
