1. The 3 Windows fonts in this directory are produced by Bitstream,Inc. These fonts contain proportional glyphs only. However, they can be used as the fixed-width fonts for Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Unicode encodings for Communicator. While the CyberBas(e) font can be used for any Windows98/95/NT, Cyberbit and CyberCJK have some limitations: We recommend Cyberbit and CyberCJK for the following operating systems: Windows NT4 or later. (Any language version) Windows 98 or later. (Any language version) Windows 95. (Any language version except: Chinese, Japanese, or Korean) Note: For CJK Windows 95, Cyberbit or CyberCJK will not work all that well. It will probably work OK as a single language font, however. That is, if you use it under Japanese Windows, you can display Japanese, but you probably will not get good results with Korean or Chinese. If you use it under Korean Windows 95, you should Korean to display but not the other two, etc. The 3 Cyberbit fonts (Version 2.0) are: Cyberbit.ZIP -- the original multilingual font. CyberCJK.ZIP -- a subset of Cyberbit. Contains Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters. CyberBas.ZIP -- Cyberbit minus CyberCJK. Particularly good for ISO-8859-x languages. Installation Notes: Use a Windows utility such as "WinZip" to unarchive the Zip files. After they are unarchived, you will find the following files: Cyberbit.ttf CyberCJK.ttf Cyberbas.ttf These fonts then can be installed via the Windows Control Panel's Font utility. Just choose "File | Install New Font ..." from the menu and then choose the the font of your choice. 2. The Euro character is contained in Cyberbit and CyberBas but not in CyberCJK. 3. The Cyberbit multilingual font is particularly useful for multilingual Java display under JDK1.1.x or later, and for multilingual Address Book display for directory server entries which are stored in Unicode. For the best effect, use Communicator 4.51 or later for multilingual Address Book. 4.The main README files provided by Bitstream are: READme.htm (HTML format), or Readme.wri (text format).
