The OpenPKG logo shows a package containing soft pieces of cotton wool. This represents a package of soft ware and so symbolically stands for the term "software package". The idea and its symbol were invented by Ralf S. Engelschall in April 2001. The logo was created by drawing the box in grey colors with a pencil on DIN A4 paper. After this, the box was scanned in with 300dpi and colorized in Gimp. Then the type was added: Open in 200pt "Mystic" and PKG in 200pt "Arial Black". The letters were manually kerned for more harmonic rendering. @
